We are assisting a Washington-based hospital in their search for a local psychiatrist to provide locum tenens coverage. This role includes providing psychiatric consultation for patients located in a downtown Emergency Room, medical/surgical inpatient hospital floors, or the CCU. The role also includes providing clinical care to boarding patients (or those who have barriers to transfer) on involuntary holds (ITA), communicating with the county prosecutor's office related to ITA matters, filing petitions for patients requiring further involuntary care and providing testimony. Frequent consultation questions include agitation and delirium management, safety evaluations, capacity evaluations, and other diagnostic evaluations and questions regarding psychiatric medication management often in patients with comorbid medical illness. This hospital site does not have an inpatient psychiatric unit but works with area hospitals to transfer patients requiring voluntary and involuntary psychiatric care. Contact us today to learn more!
